Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.)
B. Ed. course is a full time one-year programme devoted to the training of teachers for secondary schools. Admission to this course is done on the basis of Test conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of University of Lucknow, Govt of U.P. and National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE). B. Ed. is a professional training programme consisting of 4 types of theoretical and professional training activities.
Part I: | Six theory and one optional papers of 100 marks each |
Part II: | Practical course of 100 marks |
Part III: | Practice in – teaching of 200 marks |
Part IV: | Educational Tour, Co-curricular activities and preparation and presentation of term papers. |
B. Ed. is a full time professional course involving a variety of activities. Trainees are expected to put in very hard work. They often remain busy throughout the session. Therefore, B. Ed. cannot be conducted as a part time course and trainees are not permitted to undertake any job/course during its duration.
B. Ed. trainees are required to go to and stay at any place, University/Institute or city of educational importance generally outside U.P. for about 10 days. This study tour is an essential part of B. Ed. and counts for the final B. Ed. result. Prescribed educational excursion fees shall have to be paid to the institution at the of admission.
